• Named to Old Colony League All-Star Team in 2011

•Named OCL Co-MVP in 2011 in baseball

• Played varsity ice hockey for the Barnstable High Red Raiders for second straight season, earning his second varsity letter

•Scored goals versus Sandwich on Dec. 11, 2010 in 3-0 win; against Falmouth on Dec. 18, 2010 in 4-4 tie; and against Darmouth on Feb. 19, 2011.

• Played varsity hockey in 2009-10 for the BHS Red Raiders.

• His great uncle was rare, three-sport captain at BHS back in the mid-1930s, including baseball and basketball.

• Played for the Barnstable Braves AAU team in 2007 and 2008.

• Won Massachusetts State Championship at age 11 with Barnstable Little League National League all-stars under coach Dave Liimatainen.

• State -runner up in 12-year-old all-stars for Barnstable Little League.

• Selected to play for the Cape Cod Cubs U18 Junior National Hockey Team this fall.

• Got his first taste of varsity baseball this past spring at BHS.

Besse is a true competitor and always finds a way to get it done... heading into his junior year at Barnstable High School, he is a two-sport athlete who excels in ice hockey and baseball... heading into his second season on the Post 206 diamond... solid attitude, really good arm and good bat... scrappy, all-out kind of player with good wheels.... Luke had a break-out season this spring as a junior for the Barnstable High School team, taking over thelead-off spot in the lineup and plying his wares in centerfield...has a solid arm and good glove... does not give up easily and beginning to mature as a ballplayer.

•Went 1-3 with 2-RBI double in tough, 8-7 loss versus Dubxury Post 223 (July 5, 2010)

• Went 2-3 with one RBI and two runs scored vs. Middleboro Post 64 (June 27, 2010)

• Went 1-3 with run scored (June 27, 2010) vs. Rockland Post 147.

• Went 1-1 in key, pinch-hit role in superb, 10-2 victory over Hingham Post 120 (June 13, 2010) at Lowell Park.

• Went 1-1 in key, pinch-hit role vs. Brockton Post 35 (June 15, 2010)

• Went 2-3 in season-opener for Post 206 at Lowell Park vs. Hawkeye A.C. in tough loss and played solid in the outfield.

• Went 2-3 in tough 6-5 loss to Dennis Post 488 at McKeon Field in Hyannis.

Barnstable High School Highlights...

• Helped pace the Barnstable High School varsity ice hockey team to 14-4-1 record in 2010-11 and helped lead the Red & White to the Old Colony League Championship title.
• Went 3-3 in season-opener vs. New Bedford on April 3, 2011

• Was one of only three Red Raiders to get a hit versus archrival Falmouth on May 11, 2011 in a tough 5-1 loss on the road.
